Overview

The United States is by far the most famous country in the world! This country is a melting pot of cultures, people, and even geographies – from bustling New York to chilled-out California and from frigid Alaska to tropical Hawaii.

 

America is famous for things like Hot dogs, Baseball, American Football, classic diners and fast food. It is also famous for places like the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Hollywood and many more. Have you always wanted to live the American dream? Deciding to Au Pair in America will be the BEST decision you ever make!

Requirements:

  • Be between 18 to 26 years old

  • Have a valid driver’s license

  • Childcare experience (Have at least 2 childcare references with non-related children)

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Understand and speak English well

  • Be single with no dependents

  • Be in good physical and mental health

  • Be a non-smoker

  • Have a clear criminal record

  • Be a South African or Namibian citizen

  • Be willing to commit for a one year program

Life as an Au Pair in the USA

MORE INFO:

As an Au Pair in the US, you will be living with a host family and be like a big sister to the children. You will receive a weekly stipend in exchange for providing childcare services to the host family for up to 45 hours per week. You also get a $500 study allowance to do a 6-credit course. You will have time to travel and explore from coast to coast and see all the amazing places that America has to offer!

Responsibilities of an Au Pair
in the USA

- Taking the children to school and other activities - Helping the children with homework - Preparing meals for the children and/or family - Helping the children to get - ready for the day - Assist with household chores and all childcare related duties like doing the children’s laundry, keeping the children’s rooms and play areas tidy etc. - Working a maximum of 45 hours per week
