It may be a small country but it is known for many things such as cheese, clogs, windmills, tulips, coffee shops, bicycles and many more. As an Au Pair in the Netherlands, you will get to experience the rich and diversified culture that this beautiful country has to offer.
Requirements:

Be between 18 to 25 years old

Having a driver’s license is not a requirement

You must be able to ride a bicycle

Childcare experience (Have at least 2 childcare references with non-related children)

Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent

Be single with no dependents

Be in good physical and mental health

Be a non-smoker

Have a clear criminal record

Be a South African citizen

Life as an Au Pair in the Netherlands
As an Au Pair in the Netherlands, you will be living with a host family and be like a big sister to the children. You will receive a monthly stipend in exchange for providing childcare services to the host family for up to 30 hours per week. You also get to learn Dutch as your host family will contribute towards a Dutch language course. You will have at least one full weekend off per month and will be entitled to 2 weeks off during your program year. You will have time to travel and explore all the amazing tourist sites that the Netherlands has to offer!
Responsibilities of an Au Pair
in the Netherlands
- Taking the children to school and other activities - Helping the children with homework - Preparing meals for the children - Helping the children to get ready for the day - Assist with household chores like preparing dinner, doing laundry, ironing, vacuuming, making beds, keeping the kitchen clean, loading and unloading the dishwasher etc. - All childcare related duties like doing the children’s laundry, keeping the children’s rooms and play areas tidy etc. - Assist with caring for animals
